During a bichectomy operation, these fat pads can be reduced by partial removal through small incisions made inside each cheek in the mouth. With this procedure, it is aimed to create slimming in the lower cheeks, along with a dented, shadowy appearance between the cheek bones and the jaw if the patient’s anatomy is suitable. The slimming effect in the cheeks can be seen in almost everyone, while the occurance of the mentioned, pleasent, dented, shadowy appearance can be said to be related to the patient’s cheekbones and jaw structure. The amount of fat tissue to be removed should be individually calculated for each patient.

There are no strict age limitations in regards to a bichectomy operation. It is preferred that the patient to undergo the surgery is 18 years of age or older and have mostly completed the development of their facial anatomy. Although there is no upper age limit for the surgery, the patient who is going to undergo this operation is expected to be healthy and not have any obstacles in this regard. In addition, some other preferable conditions in order to get good results are that the patient has not lost the elasticity in their facial skin and there is no excess skin and sagging in their lower face area.
